Our team is looking for a motivated assistant superintendent to support in the onsite coordination and management of our construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. You will work closely with the lead superintendent to ensure delivery of successful projects to owners, in the safest manner possible, on time and on budget with the desired level of quality. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you’ll be supporting senior leadership in coordinating with various project stakeholders, including Project Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Foreman, and Field Personnel. To succeed, you must ensure MEB’s core values are being lived on the project every day and that quality, health, and safety standards onsite are your top priority.

core areas of responsibility.

  • Provide field leadership direction for assigned project(s).
  • Under the supervision of the lead superintendent, provide day-to-day on-site management of project activities including maintaining project progress schedule, coordinating work with internal resources and subcontractors, preparing material takeoffs, material management and interfacing with customers.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, organize & schedules activities to ensure that goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget.
  • Manage and work alongside crews that may install aboveground and underground piping systems, cast-in-place concrete, process/industrial equipment, sitework, and/or other miscellaneous building features.
  • Deliver daily communications of all on site activities, issues, and progress to Lead Superintendent.
  • Working with Lead Superintendent to ensure projects costs, schedule and quality are maintained.
  • Assist in conducting weekly project meetings to communicate project status.
  • Maintaining and enforce jobsite safety and security measures.
  • Assist Lead Superintendent in maintaining project records including all current plans, specifications, submittals, construction change directives, change orders and closeout documentation in an organized fashion.
  • Monitor material stock and orders.

skills you possess

  • Previous field management experience.
  • Exceptional ability to read, analyze and understand design documents, blueprints, and Microsoft Project Schedules.
  • Experience organizing, directing, and leading all aspects of both building and site construction.
  • Safety focused with a strong knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Detail and deadline oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, organizations skills, and communication skills.
