Description

MEB is seeking a Small Business Subcontracting Professional to lead our efforts in developing and managing the involvement of the small and disadvantaged business community in our work. This is a full time position located in our Chesapeake, Virginia office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with estimating and business development departments to obtain and manage minority subcontracting
  • Have a thorough understanding of the small business subcontracting goals, compliance requirements and processes associated with Federal construction projects
  • Preparation of Small Business Participation Plans for Government Bids/Projects
  • Preparation of Small Business Subcontracting Plans for Government Bids/Projects
  • Contacting Small Business Coordinators at Government Offices around the Country in locations/states that we are Bidding/Working in
  • Government Tracking of Small Business Subcontracting/Participation During Construction for all MEB projects
  • Soliciting/Tracking of Small Business Subcontractors and Suppliers for Bids and During Construction
  • Attend Small Business Fairs
  • Coordinate and Host Small Business and Community Outreach Events
  • Understand FAR Related Small Business Requirements and Track Changes in the FAR Regulations that affect Small Business Concerns
  • Involvement in Construction Groups like AGC, DBIA, ABC, etc.
  • Reach out to our Major Clients to understand Small Business Requirements, both current and future

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience in federal construction projects
  • 5+ years of experience in preparation of small business subcontracting plans
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, government bids/projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or concentrated education in the field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Comfortable speaking on subject matter in front of large groups
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
