job brief

Our team is looking for an experienced Surveyor to provide detailed and complex surveying support services for various projects, ensuring that construction work complies with design drawings and specifications. In this role, you will survey measurements for job set-up, stake-out, and “As-Built”. You must be self-driven, organized and have strong attention to detail, as you will support multiple jobs throughout the Hampton Roads region. You must also possess excellent communication skills to coordinate with project stakeholders, including Project Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Foreman, and Field Personnel. core areas of responsibility.

  • Perform preparatory work for field layout including utilizing AutoCAD and Trimble software.
  • Utilize surveying equipment including robotic total stations, scanners, GPS & GIS equipment and general surveying instruments.
  • Provide vertical and horizontal layout including control points, elevations, and offsets.
  • Transfer elevations and control lines with no line of sight.
  • Movement monitoring of existing and new structures.
  • Collect as built data and generate electronic files and professional drawings of as built record information.

skills you possess.

  • Able to read construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with layout of underground utilities, sitework, cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and industrial piping and equipment systems.
  • Use of Trimble survey equipment.
  • Proficiency in the use of Civil 3D, Revit, Naviswork, and modeling software is preferred.
  • Current surveyor license is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of surveying experience.
