Safety Week at MEB was a Success!
Throughout the week, teams held daily safety stand-downs focused on specific hazards and controls relevant to the work in place. However, at MEB, safety is not just a one-week focus. It’s built into daily operations, from planning through execution, and depends on every crew member holding the line on safe work practices.
Each site took the initiative to engage crews with practical demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on training. The focus stayed on identifying risks, reinforcing procedures, and making sure everyone understands how to work safely in the field.
With industry partners, some of the week’s activities included:
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) // E.G. Middleton
- Drop Tests // MEB
- Heat Illness Awareness // Sarah Kert
- Mental Health Awareness // Sarah Kert
- Fall Protection & Confined Space Hazards // MSA
- Rigging and Signaling // Mezzella
- 360 Degree Equipment Checks // Carter Cat
- Scaffolding Safety // American Scaffold
- Trench and Excavation Safety // United Rentals
- PPE Demo // HERC
We appreciate our partners listed above who supported these efforts by providing training and field expertise. Their involvement helps reinforce expectations and gives crews direct access to subject matter knowledge. We also recognize our MEB teams for active participation throughout the week, asking questions, sharing field experience, and applying what was covered. The week ended with raffles prizes and lunch to thank everyone for their commitment to keeping each other safe.
