Zach Silva Promoted to Mechanical Superintendent

Please join us in congratulating Zach Silva on his promotion to Mechanical Superintendent!

Zach has been with MEB for more than 10 years. When asked what sets MEB apart, he points to the company’s focus on people and core values. “Making sure the client receives an exceptional product while being safe. MEB takes care of their workers and makes sure they have everything they need.”

His supervisor, Superintendent David Branch, describes him as dependable in any situation. “You can always count on Zach, no matter the circumstance. He truly embodies our core value ‘family by choice’ and carries that mindset into every aspect of his life.”

He also describes Zach’s growth at MEB “outstanding.” Starting as a laborer in underground utilities, he moved into concrete formwork, then mechanical pipework, and advanced from helper to foreman running a crew. He most recently served as an Assistant Superintendent before stepping into his new role. Zach said he is very proud of how he has worked his way up through the ranks and built experience across multiple trades.

Over the years, Zach has contributed to a range of projects. He says his most rewarding experience so far has been his current work on the P678 Dry Dock 8 Saltwater System for CVN-78 project at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. “We have completed a lot of tough work, especially in the north and south flooding flumes.” He is also looking ahead to MEB’s next project at NNSY, the P-1062 Dry Dock 3 Modernization project, the largest project the company has been awarded to date.

Zach is optimistic about the future. “This company keeps growing and excelling, and I’m excited to keep growing in my new role along with it.”
