MEB proudly attended the Dedication Ceremony for the newly renovated Police Headquarters in Virginia Beach on January 9, 2024.
MEB began renovations in February 2021 for the new Police Administration Building and First Precinct. The building is a four-story, 96,925 SF facility that features a state-of-the-art data center, welcoming community interaction room, and an atrium with stainless steel and glass elements.
“This building will allow VBPD to fulfill our commitment to data-different practices and technology-centered policing. We will never forget what happened on May 31st, but the day is here to open a new chapter for this building—one that honors the heroes who responded that day and every day and demonstrates the City’s commitment to investing in the safety of our community.” // Virginia Beach Chief of Police, Paul Neudigate
“We are honored to have played a role in providing the Virginia Beach Police Department with a newly renovated state-of-the-art facility that will support the dedicated men and women of the police force and serve as the hub for their vital operations and Crime Command Center. The addition of a 4-story glass atrium, glass elevator, and glass stairs breathes new life into the center core of the facility. Our team worked hand-in-hand with the City of Virginia Beach, the Police Department, and lead designer Clark Nexsen to design and construct a facility that will provide a safer and more resilient community. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the success of the VBPD and to have been part of a significant milestone in the enhancement of public safety.” // MEB Executive Vice President, Mark Olmstead
