Join us in congratulating Gus on his promotion to Assistant Superintendent!
Gus joined the MEB team in 2021 as a Project Engineer shortly after graduating from Virginia Tech. Since then, he has been an essential part of the tight-knit crew leading the renovations at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center.
Reflecting on his journey so far, Gus shared, “I’m most proud of the team we’ve built at the VB Municipal Center and the relentless challenges we’ve overcome together.” He added, “The renovation of former Building 2 was especially rewarding due to the sheer amount of work it required and the positive impact it has had on the City of Virginia Beach.”
Throughout his time at MEB, Gus has worked under Project Executive Trip Smith, “Gus has always been a self-starter. He’s field savvy, and his proactive problem-solving and strong communication skills will serve him well as Assistant Superintendent. Gaining this experience will only strengthen Gus’s future leadership potential.”
Gus will remain on the same project site as he transitions into his new role. Looking ahead, he’s excited about what’s to come, “MEB’s culture and leadership style truly make it a special place to work. Leadership gives you the tools, support, and opportunities you need to succeed. That allows you to take ownership of your growth and execution which creates a rewarding environment.”
Please join us in celebrating Gus and this exciting next chapter in his career. We’re confident he’ll continue to be a valuable asset to the team!
