Bill Gipson Promoted to Field Operations Manager

We’re proud to announce the creation of a new role, Field Operations Manager, and thrilled to share that Bill Gipson will be stepping into this position. Please join us in congratulating Bill on this exciting new chapter!

As MEB continues to grow, we have a need for a leader in the field to help guide, educate, and mentor the future leaders of MEB while assisting in planning our valuable people resources to ensure that our clients’ projects are managed effectively.

Bill has devoted over 30 years to MEB as a carpenter, superintendent, and project superintendent while skillfully managing several of MEB’s most challenging projects. He has mentored countless MEB teammates and built long lasting relationships with owners, vendors, and A/E partners.

“This photo shows Bill dismantling pipe from the spray pond we were demolishing at the Power Plant P1, Norfolk Naval Base in 1985. He’s the one sitting on the pipe wearing burning goggles with an acetylene torch in his right hand. Bill was my assistant superintendent on this project. He took over as superintendent when I left and finished this difficult steam plant renovation. This was his first job as a superintendent.” // Rob Underhill, Scheduler

  • Bill has a real talent for mentoring the younger guys on site. He sets a strong example not just with his words, but by getting in there and showing them how it’s done. He’s never afraid to get his hands dirty, and he’s always willing to lend a hand when needed.” // Pat Tupea, Superintendent

“I started my career working with Bill at the Lake Gaston Water Treatment Plant project over 20 years ago. On day 2 Bill and I were walking across the jobsite, and I asked him if he had built one of these before. His response was ‘No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.’ Maybe you don’t remember those commercials, but if you do, you know that comment showed not only Bill’s wit, humor, and jolly attitude, but his confidence, too. I knew this was a guy I wanted to work with. Decades later, Bill is still a mentor, a friend, and one of my most valued colleagues. Like so many others, I have learned so much from Bill and wouldn’t be the person I am today without him. His ability to teach, plan, execute, and push his positive energy to those around him are all second to none. I am beyond thankful for what Bill does for MEB and for me.” // Tim Griffin, Vice President

A Message From Bill //

Reflecting on his journey at MEB, “I’m incredibly proud of the growth that both the company and I have experienced together. From a smaller contractor to one of Virginia’s premier contractors, it’s been amazing to be a part of,” Bill says. “What truly makes MEB special, without a doubt, are the people, my co-workers. It’s been a pleasure working alongside them, watching them grow, and contributing to what MEB is today. I am very excited to fill this new role!”

We wish Bill the best as he takes on this new role! Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved promotion.
