Since starting, he’s gained valuable hands-on experience and insight into life on a jobsite. Sarp shared, “I’ve learned so much over the last two months, but the tie-in operation stands out as the most interesting. It was an intense example of seamless coordination between stakeholders and on-site crews, pushing us to think critically, plan thoroughly, and consider multiple perspectives. What really captured my interest was the problem-solving involved and the chance to observe strong leadership in action.”
But the technical experience wasn’t all that made an impression, Sarp also spoke highly of the connections he built with the crew and mentors around him. “I genuinely see them as family, especially John and Gary. John has taught me so much while always being supportive in a way that pushes me to grow without losing confidence. This is the first time I’ve felt that kind of connection in a professional setting, and I truly value having the right people around me.”
When asked what stood out to him about MEB when searching for a summer internship, Sarp reflected, “MEB is a company that cares about its people, and it’s clear that people are genuinely happy working here, which, to me, is more important than anything else.”
