Please join us in congratulating Jared on his well-deserved promotion to Assistant Superintendent!
Jared joined MEB full-time as a Project Engineer in 2022 after graduating from Virginia Tech. During college, Jared was a MEB intern and worked on the Plasser American New Office Building project and at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard P-614 Waterfront Utilities Upgrade project.
Jared said his choice to pursue this career path was in-part seeing MEB’s growing need for superintendents. “Knowing that MEB trusts my abilities, and will rely on me for future construction projects reinforced my commitment to the role. I’m excited for the opportunity to grow and I believe this decision will be beneficial for both MEB and my career in construction,” he continued.
Throughout multiple projects Jared has been teamed up with Superintendent, Fred Lemon, who has become a valuable mentor and friend. When asked about Jared’s growth at MEB Fred said, “It has been a pleasure to mentor Jared and watch him grow as a valued member of the MEB team. I can only take Jared so far with superintendent roles and responsibilities but with the added input from his Project Mangers [Michael Stark and Stefon Artis], Jared is on a whole different level as far as your average, young Superintendent.”

Currently on the Greater Williamsburg Sports and Events Center, Jared has transitioned to the Assistant Superintendent role under Fred. He said it has been the most rewarding project in his career so far. He continued, “I’ve been involved since the earlier stages of design & the buyout process, and seeing this project come to life has been an incredible experience. I’m excited about the team we’ve built, including our subcontractors, and I am looking forward to seeing this project become something special.”
Congratulations again to Jared on his new role as Assistant Superintendent, thank you for being a valued member of the MEB family!
