MEB Earns Company Record Low EMR for 2024

MEB earns a .60 Experience Modification Rate (EMR) for 2024.

EMR is a critical metric within the construction industry. It’s a calculation used by insurance firms to price the cost of workers’ compensation premiums. The national average is a 1.0.  The rating reflects a variety of indicators, including past injury costs or claim history, and offers a prediction of future risk.

We have placed a significant emphasis on our safety program and enhanced training across the entire company. Recognizing Safety Matters as one of our Core Values, we prioritize the safety of our employees. This low EMR is a direct reflection of that. We achieved this by having 100% employee “buy-in” to create safer and healthier workplaces so everyone goes home every day.

The benefits of a low EMR for our employees mean that their safety is most important. The lower the EMR, the safer the company, and that factors in when procuring future work. Construction is one of the most dangerous industries in the world. The risk of death or injury is higher than in other professions. Workers feel safer, have better productivity, and have higher morale when fewer injuries occur. In turn, we’ve seen significantly higher employee retention due to a safer workplace.
