MEB, in partnership with Ripley Heatwole, is helping reimagine the civic heart of Portsmouth through a new five-story, approximately 114,000-square-foot City Hall and seven-level public parking garage with over 756 total parking spaces at 200 County Street.
Designed as a state-of-the-art civic facility, the project will feature a welcoming public entrance, modern technology, integrated security, full accessibility, first-floor City Council Chambers and an efficient layout that improves departmental collaboration and the citizen experience.
Clark Nexsen is leading the architecture and engineering, while Kimley-Horn is providing civil and parking garage design expertise.
The garage will serve City Hall and support nearby downtown businesses and attractions. Relocating City Hall will also unlock valuable waterfront property for tax-generating redevelopment, tourism, cultural attractions and expanded public access to the shoreline.
Through upcoming subcontractor outreach events for the project, our team will create meaningful partnering opportunities for Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned (SWaM), veteran, and local subcontractors and suppliers to participate in this transformational project.
