colonna’s shipyard building 7 phase 3

MEB was selected as the design-builder of Colonna's Shipyard's Phase 3 expansion project based on our performance on Phase 2. This expansion included additions to the machine and fabrication shop, once again, increasing the Shipyard's capability to pursue work and production.

Project Details

Phase 3 included a Machine Shop extension and a Fabrication Shop extension, consisting of approximately 22,726 SF of new building additions attached on two ends of the Phase 2 project that was completed by MEB. The facility additions consist of a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) constructed with a concrete floor slab on piling. The new fabrication shop for phase 3 was designed and constructed to support two 50-ton bridge cranes with limit of one 50-ton bridge crane per bay. The new machine shop for phase 3 was designed and constructed to support three 50-ton bridge cranes with limit of one 50-ton bridge crane per bay. Jib cranes, lathes, cutting machines, and modular offices and bathrooms were installed.
