Project Details
Design-Build project completed in two phases for the East Coast Headquarters of Earthcore Industries, the North American supplier of Isokern fireplaces, chimney systems, and other contemporary hearth related products. Phase I included the construction of a 23,660 SF industrial manufacturing facility with administrative offices and a shipment packing facility. The project included automated manufacturing, kilns, handling, and air-dried kiln storage racking areas for producing modular masonry fire places and chimney components from raw material to finished product. The primary building was constructed of galvanized structural framing with insulated panelized roofing and siding due to high levels of humidity from product curing. Per the owner’s request, MEB aggressively accelerated the build portion of construction and successfully completed the project early and under budget. Phase II included a build-out of the previously constructed facility and involved installing below-grade mezzanine footers, a mezzanine, finished floor slab for both floors, a break room, conference room, copy room, nine offices, new plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. Construction took place with the existing facility in operation.
