The project includes construction of a new freestanding pre-dewatering facility consisting of new centrifuges, carbon odor control system, polymer system, emergency truck offload system, and digester feed pumping system. The existing digester system is being replaced with new equipment to handle the additional solids load, inclusive of new hot water system, boilers, concentric tube heat exchangers, jet mixing system, recirculation heating system, and digester cover repairs. Existing digester gas system and exposed flares are replaced with new gas conditioning and blower system (moisture removal, cooling, and compression) and a new enclosed flare w/control system with a peak capacity of 25,500 cfh.
Continued plant operation of digester and digester gas operation coordination efforts include temporary sludge heating and mixing processes, and temporary digester gas piping and flare system. Modifications to existing final dewatering centrate processing and new pre-dewatering centrate through a new side stream nitrogen system and struvite recovery facilities further facilitate final effluent struvite reduction.
