Project Details

The project included the complete renovation of a 6,250 SF masonry and structural steel Type Ill Hydrant System Fuel Pump House and Control Room. MEB completed modifications to the two existing 10,000 BBL jet fuel storage tanks. These tanks were 43’-6” in diameter with a 42’ shell height. The tank suction laterals that feed the hydrant pumps was demolished and replaced. New electrical components were installed that included a new control panel and integration with the automatic tank gauging (ATG) and alarm system. Also, new pressure relief valves and associated piping was installed on each tanks issue and return piping. New tank receipt distribution valves were also replaced. All modifications were performed in accordance with API 653. Originally required construction to be completed in five different phases. MEB was able to develop an alternate phasing plan with the Government that reduced the number of phases down to three, which reduced aircraft movements and overall impact to the base mission. MEB executed the work associated with this contract with an exemplary safety record and zero lost time accidents.
