George Clarke is the founder and principal owner of MEB. He serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of MEB and provides leadership to advance MEB’s vision and mission.. George earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.
He has shaped MEB into what it is today over the last 40+ years. From one of the company’s first small parking lot jobs to now successfully completing $200+ million in work in a year with a 250+ member team.
Playing an active role in his local community, George is committed to local charitable and non-profit organizations. He serves on numerous boards and commissions including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Commission, the Chesapeake Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, and Virginia Tech’s Myers-Lawson School of Construction. He has received the Myers-Lawson School of Construction Outstanding Service Award. He consistently supports many causes including Habitat for Humanity, JT Walk and Beach Party (for ALS), The Noblemen, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Make a Wish Foundation, Samaritan House, as well as many others.
