Executive Vice President
My most significant contribution to the growth of MEB has been pursuing our first core value, family by choice. I work hard to treat my fellow MEB employees like they were part of my family. Hopefully, along the way, I have set an example to pay that same respect to our subcontractors, design firms, business partners, and owners. That’s a business model that’s highly geared for success.
Mark Olmstead has been with MEB since 1983, currently serving as Executive Vice President. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Environmental Science. Mark started his career at MEB as a Quality Control Representative working his way to a Project Manager on projects for the Navy and Army Corp of Engineers, to where he is today as Executive Vice President. He oversees personnel, management, and strategic planning for MEB’s corporate initiatives.
Mark has extensive experience in all aspects of our market sectors with an emphasis on design-build projects. He has personally managed 60+ successful projects including, the award-winning Virginia Beach Sports Center, Bauer Corporate headquarters, Plasser American office, and manufacturing expansion, the Virginia Zoo “Trail of the Tiger” and “Okavenga Delta” exhibits, and many more.
Mark is the former District President for the Associated General Contractors of Virginia, a member of the State of Virginia Board of Directors for the AGC, a certified LEED AP, and the former President of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Design-Build Institute of America DBIA.
