MEB is proud to recognize Nathan Capistran as the recipient of the ABC Excellence in Construction Craft Professional of the Year Award in Carpentry.
Since joining MEB in 2019 and being promoted to Foreman in 2022, Nathan has become a critical contributor on the P678 Dry Dock 8 project at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Nathan leads by example. He works alongside his crew, sets clear expectations, and never assigns work he isn’t willing to do himself. He has also expanded his technical depth, particularly in formwork design, improving the team’s capability on complex structures. His work remains accurate, clean, and built to spec.
Safety and development remain a priority for him. He holds OSHA 30, multiple competent person certifications (Fall Protection, Trenching and Excavation, Confined Space, Scaffolding), NCCCO rigging and signaling, and additional training in concrete, silica, heat stress, and hazard communication. His understanding of safe work practices sets a strong standard in the field.
Nathan’s influence on the Dry Dock 8 team is measurable in schedule, quality, and crew performance. His leadership, craftsmanship, and consistent execution make him a very deserving recipient of this award. The whole MEB team congratulates him on this recognition and appreciates the commitment he brings to the job every day.
