elkton wastewater treatment plant improvements – phase 3
This project provided significant improvements and expansion to Elkton’s WWTP, with construction of a new treatment process and conversion of existing facilities to enhance the plant’s capacity and further improve the quality of clean effluent water discharged to the Shenandoah River.

Project Details
Complete WWTP upgrade and process conversion, including demolition of existing facilities and structures, significant site improvements for new roadways, perimeter fencing, grading, and bypass pumping to maintain plant operations during new work. New construction included an influent pump station, a headworks facility with screening and grit removal, a dual train BNR reactor tank and process, a filter building with two disc filters, a solids handling building with one centrifuge, and a Chemical/Electrical building.
