Please join us in congratulating DeCarlos Melton on his well-earned promotion to Project Manager!
DeCarlos’ journey with MEB began in 2010 as an intern on the Washington Navy Yard – Building 220 project. From the start, he stood out for his strong work ethic and his ability to build meaningful relationships—qualities that have continued to grow throughout his career. In 2012, he officially joined the MEB team full-time as a Project Engineer, with the P-383 Controlled Industrial Facility as his first major project. Since then, DeCarlos has contributed to several impactful builds including the Portsmouth Christian School, Plasser American, Huntington Middle School and Recreation Center, and two projects for the Virginia Aquarium: the South Building Enhancements & Vet Center and the Darden Marine Animal Conservation Center.
Throughout his career at MEB, DeCarlos has gained valuable experience from superintendents and has appreciated the guidance of leaders who invested in his growth. Now, as a leader himself, he is known for his positive attitude, conflict resolution, and ability to motivate those around him. “DeCarlos always sees the bright side of a situation,” said Stefon Artis, Senior Project Manager. “He brings people together, leads with a positive mindset, and constantly works toward a solution. His personal skills make him someone people truly enjoy working with.”
What sets MEB apart, DeCarlos says, is its deep commitment to core values and the strong sense of “family by choice” that defines the culture. “We have a strong foundation and a talented organization,” he said. “I’m confident in our future success.”
