We’re excited to share that Paul Birzin has been promoted to Senior Project Engineer in recognition of his dedication, progress, and impact at MEB.
With over 3 years of experience at MEB, Paul has contributed to several projects, including his current role working on the Williamsburg Road Pump Station & Force Main project in Sandston, VA. But for Paul, one project stands out from the rest: “We faced many challenges on this project but in the end delivered it on time. I learned so much and got to build relationships with many different field supervisors that were never afraid to take the extra minute to teach me something. We established a great relationship with the owner and engineer, and this project laid the road map for me on how to navigate challenges on a project.” The Chesterfield Addison Evans Water Treatment Plant Flocculation & Sedimentation Basins Improvements Project pushed Paul to use his problem-solving skills and learn from his supervisors, ultimately making him a stronger project engineer.
Paul’s dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed. John Thornton, his supervisor, observed, “Paul’s drive and initiative have fueled his growth at MEB and prepared him to take on new responsibilities. He consistently steps up to support our teams in the field and in the office, and he has strengthened our safety culture by earning both the STSC and CHST certifications. His pride in his work is evident in every project, and we look forward to his continued success as Senior Project Engineer.” // John Thornton, Project Executive
Looking ahead, Paul is hoping he can provide the same mentorship given to him in his first few years here, “I am excited for the continual growth that MEB has shown in my short time here. I look forward to helping the next generation of project engineers reach their full potential and pass on the knowledge that my supervisors passed on to me.”
