Please join us in congratulating Juan Olguin-Herrera on his promotion to Site Safety and Health Officer!
Juan joined MEB in August 2017 as a Carpenter and quickly stood out for his strong work ethic and eagerness to learn. His growth over the years earned the respect of his team and paved the way for this next step in his career.
Throughout his time here, Juan has worked on various projects within the Water/Wastewater market. Reflecting on his experience, he shared, “I’m proud of the knowledge I’ve gained with every different project. Each one has brought new challenges and learning opportunities. The HRSD Virginia Initiative Plant (VIP) Nutrient Reduction Improvements project has been the most rewarding, especially working with fiberglass pipe. It was a great learning experience.”
Juan’s supervisor, JD Robinson, Site Safety and Health Manager, noted that Juan consistently leads by example on the jobsite. He brings several key strengths to his new role, including:
- Leadership grounded in field experience
- Calm, level-headed decision-making in high-pressure situations
- A deep understanding of safety standards and practices
- Approachability and the ability to influence positive behavior on site
Juan’s excited about what’s next and the chance to take on new challenges. “I’m really looking forward to joining the Safety Department. It’s a great opportunity, and I’m ready to keep learning and growing in this new role,” he said.
His promotion is a direct reflection of his dedication, reliability, and integrity. He consistently goes above and beyond to ensure a safe and productive work environment. “We are proud to have him in this new leadership role and look forward to the continued impact he’ll make,” said JD Robinson.
Congratulations again, Juan!
