MEB was proud to host Volunteer Hampton Roads’ quarterly Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) meeting!
Volunteer Hampton Roads, MEB, and SMILE came together to share insights with CVC members on a variety of topics. The CVC is a network of professionals dedicated to community impact within their companies and through partnerships with non-profits. Each quarter, the group gathers to discuss CVC initiatives while also learning about the host company’s approach to corporate social responsibility.
At this meeting, MEB had the opportunity to present our community service strategy and offer a behind-the-scenes look at how we’ve achieved 100% employee participation in our volunteer efforts, a milestone we’re incredibly proud of!
Every CVC meeting includes a hands-on volunteer activity. This quarter, we had the pleasure of working with SMILE (Samantha Makes It a Little Easier), a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of children facing life-threatening medical conditions through education, encouragement, and empowerment.
Participants gained insight into the challenges of living with mobility disabilities and took part in a activity decorating the covers of notebooks that will be gifted to SMILE kids, giving them a space to write down positive thoughts.
We’re grateful to Volunteer Hampton Roads and SMILE for partnering with us to create such a thoughtful and impactful event!
