The City of Richmond's wastewater treatment facility had reached its life expectancy for several of its components and required a major upgrade and expansion to bring the plant up to proper standards.
Project Details
Details of this project include the demolition of pneumatic transfer pumps, demolition and replacement of 2 primary tank feed pumps, secondary tank feed pumps, pipes, valves, instrumentation and controls for the phosphorus control system. Foxboro MIS system additions and a coagulant storage tank. New work included the construction of a methanol addition facility, chemical storage tank with transfer and feed system, and fire suppression. Site work included micro piles, roads, fencing, exterior lighting, restoration, and landscaping. For the effluent filtration upgrades, this involved the demolition and replacement of filter backwash air valves, actuators, dresser couplings with liquid contact, gaskets in the dresser couplings with backwash air contact, filter influent pumps, VFD drives, soft start, backwash pumps and influent magnetic flow meter. Rehabilitation of backwash blowers, replacement of wiring, filter controls, Filter Building roof, doors and windows, slide gate actuators and control cabinets. Painting existing filter facility and all new, replaced or rehabilitated conduit, pipe, and equipment.
