HRSD's recent acquisition of the Town of Surry's water treatment plant and services required significant improvements to ensure that the residents of the town had adequate wastewater services. This design-build project provides a state-of-the-art distribution and treatment system.

Project Details

The project consists of roughly 24 miles of 6”-10” HDPE force main from Surry County to Smithfield, roughly 4 miles of 4” HDPE force main installed down Rolfe Highway in Surry County from Marina Drive to an existing connection in the Town of Surry, 8 new or upgraded pump stations, construction of a 280,000-gallon wet weather storage tank, approximately 9 jack and bores, and approximately 16 horizontal directional drills.
