Wesley Bynum and Tim Ratay Promoted

We’re excited to announce Wesley Bynum’s promotion to Vice President of Estimating and Tim Ratay’s promotion to Preconstruction Executive!

Wesley Bynum, Vice President of Estimating

Wesley joined MEB in 2004 and has helped win our most significant projects. Wesley’s knowledge of the industry and relationships with the subcontracting community and MEB staff leads to an engaged team and strong group of subcontractors. His career at MEB has had a direct impact on MEB’s volume and profitability.

He says his top 6 most rewarding projects to have been a part of are:

Inside the Virginia Beach Sports Center

  1. Trail of the Tiger Exhibit for the Norfolk Zoo
  2. Ocean Aire High Rise in Virginia Beach
  3. Virginia Beach Sports Center
  4. Cobbs Creek Reservoir and Dam in Henrico
  5. P678 Dry Dock 8 Upgrades at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth
  6. HRSD Boat Harbor WWTP Pump Station Conversion in Newport News

Welsey said he’s proud of the company MEB has become. He looks forward to its continued success and takes pride in every project he is involved with.

“Wesley is a valuable part of the MEB team. His leadership and guidance have contributed to MEB’s success across all market sectors. We are incredibly lucky to have had Wesley on our team for over 20 years!” // David Ervin, MEB President

Tim Ratay, Preconstruction Executive

Tim joined MEB in 2018! With over 20 years of valuable construction and preconstruction experience, he quickly grew into the role of leading preconstruction at MEB.

Ohio Creek’s Ballentine Pump Station

He’s most proud of his work on the Ohio Creek Watershed Project. Tim said, “That project was a big milestone for the company as it was the first large-scale, competitively bid alternate delivery project we won and was the first pursuit I worked on. It was a very tough preconstruction phase. It required a lot of value engineering and collaboration to get the project to a GMP, let alone constructing it and ultimately deeming it a successful project for all involved”.

Tim said he looks forward to the future of MEB as we build on our reputation as a trusted alternative delivery partner. He said MEB is the most employee-focused company he has worked for.

“Tim excels at developing innovative ways to attack problems and provide constructable solutions for our partners and MEB. We look forward to the future growth of MEB with Tim leading our preconstruction efforts.” // David Ervin, MEB President
